Swordsman and Archer



This is a drawing that I did a few weeks ago. It wasn't that difficult, at least, not that I can recall, but I think that it looks rather impressive.


The swordsman is called Arrow. I know that is what you would expect an archer to be called, but no, the swordsman is called arrow. His name, however, is Ianthor.



And the archer (And you are thinking "Oh! Wait! he's called 'Blade,' right?" ) is called Harp. For he is graceful and musical, much like the instrument which he is skilled with playing. His name is Shiarin.

July 14...


Today is July 14. It is a day that is somewhat significant in the history of my life. As in, that is when it started. In southern California some few years ago, it started.



What makes it important it that is was the beginning. The beginning of so many grand things. My life has been more wonderful that anyone could have guessed on that day, full of so many glorious things...


...I've got the coolest aunts and uncles, and can now fully appreciate them. (I love you guys, by the way.) The 100% most awesome sister IN THE WORLD. We are best friends now. ( As little things, we didn't always get along...) I've got an amazing friend who has meant a lot to me. And, of course the uttermost, vehemently epic mother in the world who I love more than anyone.



I do believe that all of the best things have happened in the last three years. Such wonderful, wonderful things. My writing has improved more than I ever thought possible. My drawing, too. And I have learned so many, so very, very many things. It is really quite astonishing, actually. But what I find even more astonishing, is how much I don't know, and how much I am going to learn.


So, here is to a future that has the potential to be most awesome.

A Ship Drawing

I'm not sure that any of you know this, but, ships were the first thing that I could draw very well. I loved ships, well, to see paintings of them: their appearance is the mainly only thing I like about them. I like clipper ships and frigates. Probably others too, but those are two of the few who's name I know. But my drawings always came out sort of a clipper-style.



Much time has passed since I stopped drawing ships on a regular basis, but every so often, I'll try it again. Yesterday was one of those time. I saw something with ships in it and the sea-longing returned.

I really would have preferred a frigate-style ship, but I didn't think about it that much so it came out my usual clipper-style.


I'll work on a frigate and see if I can't do it one of these days. But, for now, enjoy my typical clipper ship.

Independence Day

We live in the greatest country that ever has been and ever will be. God has blessed us beyond what most people can even imagine. And he chose to bring about these blessings a handful of great men, men who new what the problem was with other countries and wanted to make a nation free of these problems, free of tyranny. They gave their lives to insure that this new land would be free.

These are the men that fought for freedom, that died for freedom. But before these men fought, fifty- six men told the British that they would. On this day, the greatest declaration every written was signed. A declaration saying that men should be free, that if there was a tyrant keeping them from being so that it was there responsibility to rid themselves of this tyrant. And that a Government should be installed to see that the people keep their freedom, not to take it away from them.

Now, read these words, read them slowly that you may understand them and take them to your heart. For these are the words that every
true American lives by.







In Congress, July 4th, 1776


The Unanimous Declaration of the thirteen United States of America.

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

From here on, the Declaration goes on to list the charges against King George, their reasons for believing they have the right declare their freedom. Now, the whole document is called The Declaration of Independence, and it is in the very last paragraph that the actual
declaration is made:


We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.



These are the men, long dead, but there actions were immortal, so their names and deeds live on, thee men are the Founding Fathers of our country. Respect them and give them honor, on this day and always.

Whether they were men of character or not, God used them to free his nation.
Americans really are remarkable people. But sadly, they are often given a bad name by people
claiming to be Americans, but who are not, only by title.The United States is a country of honor, a country of good people, people who will help each other out when things get tough. They will lend a hand to whoever needs it.

As I said at the beginning of the post, we live in the greatest country that ever has been. When a country is blessed by God and based on freedom, there is no way it could be anything but the greatest land that ever was. And the Untied States is that country. It is the best. And it shall be, always and forever. Till the twilight of mankind.
